Wammo trouble
I've noticed that people seem to have a huge problem with Wammos in the sense that very few people like them. I've seen them ridiculed in AB, in town and sometimes even among their own PuG teams. They’re like the bastard children of GW, everyone hates them. Now I’ve ran wammo builds before and honestly, I’ve been decently successful with them in both PVE and AB. When I first started playing GW my original character was a pre wammo and I figured out two things 1. A warrior/monk doesn’t have the energy build at the lower levels to be successful and 2. People really hate them. I got so frustrated that I deleted the character and started over with a W/R that got me through Prophs and Factions. Now that I have a lvl 20 warrior I sometimes run a wammo build in AB and like I said before I do okay with it, not super good but not totally sucky either. What I’ve figured out is that you need at least 35 energy to work the monk heals like healing breeze and mending and it’s pretty pointless to go with the smiting spells like roj, although running a smiting warrior in AB is pretty good for lulz if you want to piss off your team. So my conclusion is: Wammo – good for healing and defense sucky for offence.

AB is hardly a "pvp" arena, more like pve players farming points although most have moved to JQ now. Anyway...
W/Mo is my first character too, but at the time I did not see discrimination. In fact, people actually wanted me to "tank" (I guess people back then had different perception :P But eventually people realized tanking is bad in GW, so warrior monks with TERRIBLE builds like Healing Breeze/Mending/Healing Hands aka the wammo healing template find themselves ridiculed for using a bad build. Of course not all wammos are bad, one could run a cripslash or something with Mending Touch in AB and get away with it, but it's not optimal. Plus, many of the wammos in game even now use the above mentioned crap build.

If I join a PUG with my Warrior it will always be as a W/Mo just because of [Rebirth]. Someone has to take care of the oh so elitist toughrange [Flare] [Phoenix] eles and the [Mending touch] Monks that go in to heal them (or as I have seen it before even run around the back of a mob for no apparent reason).
Just ignore these noobs complaining about you being a Wammo and play as you like as long as its effective. If you find a good group where you dont need the res-and-pull-a-noob skill, then you can change to an even better build like W/R or W/E or even a pure Warrior build.

if you want to be wammo make a derv.
They are the dream of what wammo's always wanted to be, strong attack, strong healing(mystic regen=awesome mending), and easy to use. Sure this sounds far fetch but honestly most dervs run builds that function very similar to wammos.

If people ridicule you just for being a Wammo, they're morons, because you can't ridicule someone's build without actually seeing the build. Going /Mo just for [rebirth] is perfectly reasonable.

This completely saved my party multiple times, but I only recently started playing it on my awesome pve earthshaker build (they call it earthshaker for a reason you know).
Post the wammo build you've been ridiculed for, people dont hate wammos because of people switching to /Mo for mending touch on their shock axes rather they hate wammos because they add a warrior to their team then find he's a total noob who rushes a huge mob and puts on defy pain.
[eviscerate][body blow][disrupting chop][bull's strike][frenzy][rush][shock][enraging charge]
[devastating hammer][crushing blow][bull's strike][disrupting dagger][hammer bash][flail][death's charge][enraging charge]
[primal rage][rush][bull's strike][disrupting chop][dismember][agonizing chop][body blow][shock]
This was my first real pvp build after playing wammo and I NEVER EVER EVER want to go back to bringing healing breeze with 2 attacks. First impression after switching to the primal rage version of this was.... wow I really sucked before, no wonder people make fun of wammos.
Basically, the point of warrior in GW pvp is to kill the enemy team quickly. If you make your build for "defense" you won't be able to do this, resulting in you being a waste of a team slot (most wammos are deeply insecure about this).
Defense is the mid and backline.
A monk can heal far, far better than you, in fact, a monk who brings the same healing spells as you would be a noob because the ones available to him are far more effective.
Tell me, in AB, how many kills do you get per large fight ? I'm sure you won't give me an honest answer, but I'm perfectly capable of getting 5-6-7 including a monk or two with shock axe / hammer. Sometimes I just go for kill count, but usually lose track.
Kurzicks are absolutely terrified of me. They attack me, and it doesn't work, and they try to get away but they just can't :X except when I let them go, like the other day I was in rush chasing the last survivor of a big mob fight, and I just didn't click bull's strike, then I told her to make sure to get away coz there's got to be a survivor.
By the way, [disrupting dagger] has resulted directly in the deaths of 3 kurzick monks since I started using it. But that's not as many as [hammer bash].

W/mos get ridiculed because there was a time when many new players tried to make them into something they are not, which is a monk primary.

Have'nt read the other replies, sorry if I cover anything pre-mensioned.
Now, I've played a Warrior for 1,000 hours now and in my conclusion, yes, a WAMMO is utterly usless as an AB build or casual PvE build.
Most healing is done with a signet or Lions.., if you decide to bring any self healing at all.
Only good for running IMHO.
There are only a handful of build out there than utilize a WAMMO perfectly.
To be fair, I just don't see the point and yeah. If in PvE I see a WAMMO my first thought is "F***ing newb".

W/Mo's get labeled as noobs mostly because they are. If I had to, I'd rather take a hench War than a random W/Mo. They usually have no idea what the hell Wars are supposed to be doing, and so are basically useless.

I have a W/Mo running build that does quite well in most of Tyria for getting Guildies/Alliance Mates places that they want to go and for Chest Running. Other than that, unless a good friend absolutely begs me to bring [[[email protected]], I stay away from W/Mo.

Basically what you'll eventually realize is that in pvp you can get away with little or no defense. If your team is winning, you won't die even if frenzy is your most defensive skill.
I converted a triple chop wammo to WE axe.... the same slot for defensive stance was now frenzy, and he had no self heals... and he loved it. Like "omg I just killed an ele without losing hp", ownage sauce and he was making people lose 250hp in a second.
Just rocked the fcking house with primal rage sword tonight on AB... again, no defense except for [rush][shock][savage slash]. Only died once when my party got trapped and died (and i felt so stupid) but then we wiped the floor with 12 kurzicks for the rest of the round. [i'm still all manic from this]
In pve, you're better off spamming an 11-12 tactics [watch yourself] on a dps build than being a stupid useless tank.
Or be an earthshaker and impress the female monks by knocking down 10 monsters at a time ..... (while buffing the party's armor by 20)
I think not bringing a moderate to high armor watch yourself in pve should be a bannable offense, often I chain it with other warriors because it's easy and you sacrifice nothing for it.
Some guy told me to use defy pain while hero/henching Abaddon's gate the other day, I took his advice because he used to run it .... and I regretted it all the low lame dps way. The extra 250hp did NOT help the casters survive waves of damage. Next time I did it I helped some guy with sabway necros just for fun, and we got it done easily in like 5 minutes.... 77dps [dragon slash] FTW.

Why the hell do warriors insist on bringing rebirth?
It is highly unlikely that the frontline (if they are doing what they are supposed to be doing) should be the last one standing. Bring res sig or even Death Pact (if you are brave lol).
Besides bringing rebirth is basically admitting that you are going to screw up.

fix'd
Ontopic:
W/Mo with only [Mending Touch] from monk skills =/= Wammo
W/Mo with [Mending] and/or [Healing Hands] and/or [Healing Breeze] = Wammo
I usually change my secondary to Monk when I don't need to use any skill from any secondary prof., so people will see me, and they will think "meh, noob wammo", they will ignore me, and I can H/H my way through the game :3

Ever tried playing Warrior in a PUG group? Some of them seem to think that the Warrior is meant to distract anything, so the monks and eles can rush up ahead before a battle begins.
Rebirth is not admitting the Warrior is going to screw up, its admiting that PUGs will screw up. Its the fine difference of being a pesimist and being a realist.
If you play with a good team that you know, then feel free to take anything else you feel like taht works.

+1
In most PUG groups I still take Rebirth.
My frontline defencsive stances, doubled with a healing sig out of untrust for PUG monks and then tripled in PUG stupidity actually leave me as a sole survivor.
I can't count the teams I've ressed mid-mission.

[mending touch] is the only reason to have a monk secondary.

If you know how much PuGs suck why do you keep using them? Seriously, H/H means theres no reason to ever PuG.
